A transfer vehicle waiting under the thatch at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport

Getting here

Transfers

We arrange private transfers from four airports, and local transport once you are here. Send us your flight numbers rather than only the times, so your driver can track the flight and be there whether you land early or late. Rates are available on request.

About an hour away

Kruger Mpumalanga International

KMIA, outside Mbombela, is the practical choice for most guests. Daily flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town, a small and easy terminal, and about an hour of driving to the lodge. If you are unsure which airport to book, book this one.

Inside the park

Skukuza Airport

Skukuza sits inside the Kruger National Park itself, which makes for a memorable arrival: the drive out to the gate is effectively a game drive before you have unpacked. Park entrance is included in the transfer.

To the north

Hoedspruit Eastgate

Convenient if you are combining The Zarafa with a stay in one of the northern reserves. Otherwise it is the longest of the three drives, at around two and a half hours.

Johannesburg

OR Tambo International

Around five hours by road. Most guests connect on to KMIA instead, but if you would rather not fly twice we can quote for the drive, and it is a good road most of the way.

Once you are here

Getting around

We can arrange transport to restaurants, attractions and activities locally, which is particularly useful on an evening you would rather not drive after a five-course dinner. A hire car is not necessary if you would prefer to be driven for the whole stay.

Arranging a transfer

Tell us your arrival and departure flights when you book, or any time afterwards, and we will confirm the vehicle and the driver with you.

Transfer rates depend on the airport and the size of your party, and are available on request. Ask us and we will send the current list through.
