Private transfers for your Kruger stay
We arrange private transfers from four airports, and local transport once you are here. Send us your flight numbers rather than only the times, so your driver can track the flight and be there whether you land early or late. Rates are available on request.
About an hour away
Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA)
For most guests, KMIA is the easiest choice. Just outside Mbombela, it offers the widest selection of scheduled flights, a small and uncomplicated terminal, and a drive of around an hour to The Zarafa.
If you are unsure which airport to book, this is the one we recommend.

Inside the park
Skukuza Airport
Skukuza sits inside Kruger National Park itself, making for a rather special arrival. The drive from the airport to the park gate is effectively your first game drive, before you have even unpacked.
Park entrance fees are included in the transfer.
To the north
Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport
Hoedspruit is a convenient choice if you are combining The Zarafa with a stay in one of the private reserves or lodges further north.
For guests travelling directly to us, it is the longest of the three regional airport transfers, at around two and a half hours.
Johannesburg
OR Tambo International Airport
The drive from Johannesburg takes around five hours. Most guests choose to connect onwards to KMIA, but if you would prefer not to take a second flight, we can arrange a private road transfer.
It is also a surprisingly scenic journey, changing gradually from the Highveld into the greener landscapes and dramatic escarpment of Mpumalanga before descending towards the Lowveld. If you have the time, travelling by road can be a very pleasant way to begin your stay.

Getting around
We can arrange private transport to local restaurants, attractions and activities throughout your stay. It is particularly useful on an evening when you would rather not think about driving after a five-course dinner.
A hire car is therefore entirely optional. If you would prefer to arrive, settle in and be driven wherever you need to go, we can arrange everything for you.

Tell us your arrival and departure flights when you book, or any time afterwards, and we will confirm the vehicle and the driver with you.
Transfer rates depend on the airport and the size of your party, and are available on request. Ask us and we will send the current list through.
