The setting
A corner of the garden, kept for you
Dinner is served in a secluded part of the garden, beneath fairy lights and flickering lanterns, with candles, flowers and music creating the setting. No other tables, no other guests, and no one passing through.
Every detail can be tailored to suit the occasion and your own style. Tell us what you have in mind and we will build the evening around it.
The table is laid before you arrive and the area is yours for the evening. Our team look after everything from the edge of it, so the service is there when you want it and invisible when you do not.
The evening
Five courses, served slowly
The evening unfolds around a beautifully presented five-course dinner, served slowly and entirely in your own time. Our team takes care of everything around you, leaving you simply to enjoy the food, the setting and each other. There is no last order, no table to turn, and nowhere else you need to be.
Our kitchen follows the same five-course menu as the restaurant, with the inspiration travelling to a different country each evening. If there is something you particularly love, something you would prefer to avoid, or any dietary requirement we should know about, simply tell us when you book. That gives our kitchen time to plan the evening around you rather than make changes once dinner has begun.
The occasion
A reason to celebrate, or none at all
Most people book private dining for a reason: an anniversary, a birthday, a proposal, the last night of a honeymoon, or simply as a surprise for someone who is not expecting it. If you are planning to propose, tell us beforehand and we will make sure the evening flows around the moment, and that nobody appears at exactly the wrong time.
But it does not need an occasion.
An ordinary Tuesday in the Lowveld, a table glowing under the lights, good food arriving slowly, and an evening that belongs to nobody else can be reason enough on its own.
Good to know
Before you book
- Pre-booking is essential, and a day or two ahead is usually enough
- Dinner is already included in your rate, so this is the setting rather than the meal
- Allergies and dietary requirements gladly accommodated, with notice
- Tell us the occasion and anything you would like arranged for it
- If the weather turns, we lay a table in a private area of the restaurant instead
- Rates for private dining and extras are available on request
